Doc Showalter, aka 1Heckofaguy.com, recently put together a video montage to a tune of Leonard Cohen’s called, Do I Have To Dance All Night. It includes a clip from Lian Lunsen’s video for one of the songs on Blue Alert, and he said there was a hankering from fans to see it in its entirety. So here, for the first time since the album release way back in 2006, is Innermost Door, filmed by Lian Lunson.

hi everybody!

so winter lingered forever and what happened to spring? at least in LA, we’ve shot right into summer fever and scorching fire. i made it out of Santa Barbara for the Foundation For Healing All Nations conference just in time to avoid the smoky chaos...my prayers go out to the families who lost their homes and to nature, who lost acres of woodlands. the conference featured an enlightened group of leaders doing amazing work in non-profit organizations to assist folks who’ve met all manner of misfortune. led by FAHAN director Bonnie Mansdorf and Brooks Greene-Barton, we worked on revolutionary ways to eliminate poverty and create abundance in ways large and small. it was the first gathering of that nature i’ve attended and i came away determined to help whenever and wherever i can.

and for everyone who is wondering: yes, i’m still working on the record! in order to get some fresh inspiration, i rented a tiny cottage in the country where i can take long walks, see the stars and breath some orange blossom air. the move paid off as i came up with my first tune last night; an ode to the forest.

Blue Alert inspires others! Half The Perfect World is the title of Madeleine Peyroux’s latest album. She recorded a well-received version of Cohen’s Dance Me To The End Of Love on her wonderful debut album several years ago. Now, she covers Half The Perfect World and Blue Alert. (She also recorded Crazy To Love You for Japan release only). Maddy’s version of Blue Alert was also featured on an Old Navy commercial.
